SWPA's News Bulletin: Q1 2025
"As we start a new financial year, I’d like to start by just quickly reflecting on a very busy and successful 2024/25 for the South West Procurement Alliance. We have been fortunate to grow our network of active clients in the past 12 months whilst continuing with existing relationships that go back many, many years. The projects that we have supported to ‘get going’ and as importantly the social value initiatives that we have supported our clients with have been hugely impressive and our new Community Benefit Fund structure will encourage and support even more activity within this space.
The recent release of our new Decarbonisation and Retrofit Framework has generated a significant and needed procurement platform to support the Governments recent allocation of funding to tackle the Net Zero agenda and we are delighted to see the South West getting more of a fair allocation this time around. Finally, SWPA will celebrate it’s 6th Birthday this year which we are all proud to be part of and the portfolio of offers that we have to support our clients and continue working with a well skilled south west based contractor base that will continue to deliver positive outcomes for client, customers and the communities in which they live.”
- Richard Hughes, The South West Procurement Alliance (SWPA) Regional Director
Newly Launched Retrofit and Decarbonisation (N9) Framework
This innovative new framework is designed to support local authorities, housing associations, education and other public sector organisations in delivering a range of energy efficiency and decarbonisation works, helping them with the challenge of achieving net zero and improving the EPC ratings of their stock.
SWPA's Procurement Roadshow
During April and May the team will be touring the South West and bringing their knowledge of frameworks, how best to utilise them, and updates from the recently launched Procurement Act 2023 to our valued partners, throughout the region.
Social Value in Action
SWPA strive to implement social value into everything we do. The new Retrofit & Decarbonisation (N9) Framework contains specific social value targets that are connected to the delivery of our frameworks. The team have also recently achieved the Gold Standard Verification for all its public sector frameworks, demonstrated in our projects and high quality output.
