SWPA's News Bulletin: Q1 2024

Team SWPA’s most notable achievement of the last few moments was the Asset Safety and Compliance Conference, held at the Forge in Winslade Manor, near Exeter. The event was well attended, with 71 clients, appointed companies, and industry specialists. The new frameworks, including Refurbishment and Modernisation, Fire Safety and Asset Safety and Compliance, were successfully launched. Many speakers attended from all over the UK, to talk about the importance of compliance, including: RLB, Ventro, Orbis, PHS Compliance, Churchill Environment, Lorne Stewart, Kovia and Ian Williams.

SWPA garnered a new Associate Partner, to add to the South West roster. South Gloucestershire Council are the newest member to join up, which marks a key milestone in achieving our aspirations of working more in the “Northern” part of the region. SWPA also hosted two webinars, for clients and appointed companies, to launch the Refurbishment and Modernisation (RM3) Framework further, with the help of Paul Dawson, from LHC PG. This was informational and useful for all who attended.

Rosie Bates, SWPA’s Client Support Manager and Penny Searson, Regional Manager enjoyed two project visits as well. Along with a great visit to Mid Devon Council, Penny and Rosie also made the trip to Somerset to see Penlea House, a project organised by Homes in Sedgemoor, working in Partnership with Somerset Council, and Classic Builders.

SWPA also proudly showed support for the newly released MMC Playbook, created by the Housing Festival with collaboration from many different industry specialists nationwide, including SWPA and LHC PG. The Playbook is entitled “SOCIAL RENT HOUSING AT PACE: THE MMC PLAYBOOK” and is aimed at local authorities: use this link to download a copy.
