SWPA 1st year anniversary; a review
One year ago, we held our launch and annual conference; we have achieved and done a lot in our first year, and although we haven’t been able to host our annual conference this year, we have still found a way to celebrate!
Before the pandemic we visited companies appointed to our frameworks, attended, exhibited at and sponsored a range of events, both local and national.
Since then we have hosted a range of webinars, some with the appointed companies on our Offsite Construction of New Homes (NH2) framework. Some were knowledge sharing events such as our Collaborate, Integrate and Aggregate webinar. All webinars and other recorded events can be found on our YouTube channel (click here).
We registered 68 projects in our first year as SWPA, bringing our total to almost 100! Two of these have been recognised and nominated for several awards.
As part of the LHC Group we have launched four new frameworks; Aluminium Windows and Doors (A7), Energy Efficiency Consultancy (N8C), Offsite Project Integrator (OPI1) and Whole House Refurbishment and Associated Works (WH2), as well as our first DPS!
Our Director, Mary Bennell, has this to say about our first year ‘’ The first year being SWPA has been a roller coaster experience starting with a really positive launch that generated real interest in what we were doing amongst South West stakeholders . Lockdown in March meant we had to readjust ourselves like everybody and adapt to a new way of working -communicating with our clients and appointed companies . We have continued working full time and delivered some really interesting webinars on Offsite Construction and MMC and engaged with key players in the sector such as Magna Housing Limited in partnership with Rollalong and the Bristol Housing Festival . At the moment we are really enjoying being active participants in the Bristol Housing Festival Virtual 2020 event – participating in interesting and stimulating debates and meeting new people through networking sessions.
